See Your Future Garden With Clarity Before the Build Begins

We help homeowners in Bristol, Bath and the South West make confident design decisions by showing how their garden will look and feel before any work starts.

WHY THIS MATTERS

At the start of a garden project, it can be difficult to picture how the space will look or work.

That uncertainty often makes decisions harder and can lead to changes once work is already underway.

Designing a garden shouldn’t feel uncertain or risky

We help homeowners in Bristol, Bath and the South West make confident design decisions by showing how their garden will look and feel before any work starts.

That uncertainty often leads to delayed decisions, changing direction mid-build, or spending serious money without real confidence.

A structured design process, without feeling rushed or boxed in

Our role is to help you fully understand and shape your garden before the build begins.

The design develops in clear stages, giving you space to explore ideas, refine details and make decisions calmly — with expert guidance throughout.

You’re never pushed forward until the design feels right.

What you receive

A clear, structured design process that gives you time to explore ideas and make decisions properly.

01

Site survey

Accurate survey information. Levels, boundaries and existing features are understood from the start.

02

Concept, visual design and refinement

Clear plans and 3D visuals that show how the garden will work and feel, with ideas explored, tested and refined together until the design feels settled.

03

Materials and lighting

Materials, finishes, and lighting are clearly set out in the design.

04

Planting plan

A planting plan defining plant sizes, spacing and quantities.

05

Technical drawings

Scaled drawings and details that allow contractors to price and build accurately.

06

Cost and build support

Reviewing contractor pricing, value-engineering the design where needed, and providing support during construction.

07

Two-year growth support

Seasonal visits after completion to advise as the garden establishes.

Design refinement without arbitrary limits

During the design stage, revisions are not capped within the agreed scope. We refine the concept together until it is properly resolved.

Design alignment guarantee

If, after reasonable refinement, the concept does not align with the agreed brief and cannot be resolved, the stage two design deposit is refunded in line with invoice terms.

The project only moves forward once the design feels right.

OUR PROCESS

How we work

We don’t rush design decisions or push projects forward before they are ready.

Ideas are explored, questioned and refined, rather than forced through stages.

During the design stage, revisions are not capped, allowing the design to develop properly.

If the design genuinely isn’t working, we stop there. It’s extremely rare, but in that situation, the design fee for that stage is returned.

CLIENT TESTIMONIAL

If you’re reading this review because you’re trying to pick a garden designer, trust me, stop, you’ve found them!

As someone who is extremely thorough with a high attention to detail, I had high expectations going into this project.

I mean it when I say Rob from UNL has surpassed them. Why?

01.

01.

01.

His design process is organised and thorough. Rob really considers all your needs, listens and produces designs that nail the brief.

02.

02.

02.

Robs knowledge of materials and planting is incredible - this means you can really create some exciting concepts and you’re safe in the knowledge that Rob really has considered all options.

03.

03.

03.

Rob isn’t afraid to tell you when you’ve got a rubbish idea or suggestion and why it’s bad - important skill for any designer when a client starts suggesting roque options.

04.

04.

04.

His involvement - as part of Robs design process, he works with the landscaper which really helps take the pressure off and ensures the build sticks to brief. He’s also quick to identify if something isn’t right and correct it.

05.

05.

05.

He cares about his projects - Robs work ethic and desire to create a great end result is incredible. I’ve never had a service like it. He treats the garden like his own and will do whatever it takes (weekends, evenings, rain or shine) to get the job done. This is rare and a great asset to have.

I would 100% recommend Rob and UNL to anyone that wants to create an incredible outdoor space. He really is the best option out there.

Confidence before you commit to the build. Most designers focus on how a garden looks. We focus on whether it works.

Clients see and shape the design through concepts and visuals before any build decisions are made.

Ideas are tested and refined as the design develops.

If the design doesn’t come together, we don’t force the next stage.

We stay involved through drawings, pricing and construction so the design holds together once work begins.

Design Guarantee

Design should feel exciting, not uncertain.

If the design doesn’t come together after proper refinement, we don’t force the next stage. It’s extremely rare, but in that situation, the design fee for that stage is returned.

Revisions

Good design needs space to develop.

Ideas are refined through discussion and feedback, allowing the design to evolve until it feels settled. There’s no pressure to rush decisions or move on before the design is ready.

If you’re considering a garden project and want to approach it properly, the first step is a conversation.
